SAMALA VENU pursued his academic career in Hyderabad.
He did his Masters in Science from Osmania University
and also obtained a Diploma in Public Relations. He started
his career in the Banking sector at State Bank of Hyderabad.
He handled rural publicity campaigns and won accolades for his
innovative methods and effective results. He later joined Sahara
India and worked with the group for an year and half and subsequently
he worked for the Transport Corporation of India and Gati Limited for
more than a decade. During his long tenure with the above companies he
accomplished several tasks and played a crucial role in the successful
completion of several corporate projects by liasioning with government
officials and media and was instrumental in the image building of the company.He is a Life member of the Public Relations Society of India,
Hyderabad chapter, presently serving as an Executive Committee
Member and also National Council Member. He is also a member of
reputed social organisations like, Red Cross society, Rotary Club,
Press Club of India, etc. He has gained world-wide experience in Public
Relations and has travelled to over 24 countries across the globe.
Dr. C.V. Narasimha Reddi
Dr. C.V. Narasimha Reddi retired as Director, Department of I&PR, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
He held a number of key positions such as, Press Secretary to Chief Ministers,
Director (PR) – APSRTC, Director – IFPR, Director – SIRD, Director – Cultural Affairs,
Director – Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s College of Communication and Management, Hyderabad,
etc. He is presently the Editor of the journal, ‘Public Relations Voice’. He has authored
14 books and edited three text books of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University. His book ‘How to be
a Good PRO’ (1974) is acclaimed as the first Indian book on Public Relations.
Dr. Narasimha Reddi has been honoured with the prestigious award “The Man of the Year”
by the Public Relations Society India (1997-98) and also the Millenium Award for PR Education (2000).
As President, PRSI, Dr. Reddi gave a call to observe “National Public Relations Day”
on April 21, 1986 which is now being celebrated all over the country every year as a major National PR event.
